NOTES

Show 8:00PM.

Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield today announced the line-up for the second annual "Acoustic-4-A-Cure" concert benefiting the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Joining Hetfield and Hagar on Friday, May 15 at The Masonic in San Francisco are special guests (in alphabetical order): Jerry Cantrell, Pat Monahan, Linda Perry, Joe Satriani, Chad Smith and more. Each legendary artist will be performing acoustic sets - with once-in-a-lifetime musical moments, duets, jams and surprise guests planned.

All proceeds from the concert will be donated to fund children's brain tumor research at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, one of the nation's leading children's medical facilities.

"Acoustic-4-A-Cure" was created by Bay Area rock legends Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield, whose vision was to raise needed funds and awareness for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF by bringing together some of their legendary friends and throwing a must-see concert for fans. Highlights from their inaugural sold-out concert last year included Hetfield's acoustic rendition of The Beatles "In My Life," Billie Joe Armstrong, Hetfield and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani bringing the house down with a medley of Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and the Hagar promised, "only-in-San Francisco moment" when Hetfield, Armstrong, Satriani, Pat Monahan and Nancy Wilson joined him on stage for an all-star jam of Bob Dylan's "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35" to close the show.

Love this show! Sorry about Sammy's voice. :-( Loved the BB King tribute. Linda Perry was a treat! Adam Sandler is always funny. Great job Pat Monahan @train! James Hetfield's daughter sounded awesome (James too, of course)! Thank you Joe Satriani, Jerry Cantrell and Chad Smith, too! Missed having a big jam at the end with everyone. :-(

I thought the show didn't flow as well from artist to artist as 2014. I liked hearing from Sammy & James, but it's not necessary between all the sets - unless time is needed for equipment change - then it's better than dead air!

VIP at Fillmore was much more enjoyable. The Anchor Room at The Masonic is too far from the action and a forced meet & greet at the end wasn't nearly as pleasant as just hanging out in the poster room at The Fillmore.

I'm bummed for the Pediatric Cancer Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital that the show didn't sell out - I was shocked that it didn't because I find this event so much fun and with such unexpected surprises and duets - like Adam Sandler and Pat Monahan! Linda Perry and Kara the nurse! Linda Perry acoustic Creep - WOW!

Thanks Sammy and James! Much love for a good cause!

Sammy, I went to the 1st annual & 2nd annual acoustic show. Last year I left saying it could've been better. More duets and rarer songs. ...this year I left saying 'this was the best concert I have ever been to' Sammy your set was awesome! BB Kings 'The Thrill Is Gone', Jefferson Airplane (duet with Linda Perry) 'Somebody To Love', Halfway To Memphis (with Aaron Hagar). Linda Perry's set with her awesome version of What's Up (and many more awesome ones. She has a great voice). Trains no mic version of 'When I Look To The Sky' Adam Sandlar singing Dream On & Ramble On with Pat Monahan (those w were also 2 of the best songs!!!) Joe Satriani Chad Smith, Vic Johnson, & Sammy Hagar singing Bitten By The Wolf & Sexy Little Thing. Chad Smiths drum solo! Jerry Cantrell & James Hetfield singing 'Satisfied Mind' & Don't Fear The Reaper' and the finale of James Herfield & his daughter Cali. Man she has a voice. Some many awesome moments in 1 night. Thank you Sammy.

Last years show was amazing and feel blessed my friend Julie and I will be there again! An amazing cause..amazing artists and big hearts!!!

I was lucky enough to get 2 VIP tickets last week when this went on sale. VIP includes:

Purchasing a VIP ticket gets you:
Reserved Box Seat on Main Floor
A special VIP Entrance (pick up tickets at venue night of show)
A pre-show reception / Meet & Greet in Anchor Room
Complimentary hors d'ouvres + limited beverages

I assume Meet & Greet would be Sammy, Joe, Chad, James ect. I would think that since 3/4 of the Foot will be there Mikey will make an appearance too. Not a bad deal for $350.

Anybody get the VIP last year?

Anyone know if the VIP upgrade will be available again, this year? (No mention of it in the press releases or on ticketmaster site, so far.)
